about this story

Immanuel Kant is a philosopher who aimed to work out how human entities could be useful and kind outside of the exhortations and blandishments of conventional beliefs. He was born in 1724 in the Baltic city of Königsberg, which was part of Prussia, and now goes to Russia (renamed Kaliningrad). His family was deeply spiritual and very stringent. Later in life, Kant did not have any traditional spiritual principles. Still, he was acutely conscious of how much belief had provided to his parents' ability to cope with all the difficulties of their existence and how valuable faith could be in nurturing social cohesion.

Kant was composing at a highly intriguing period in history we now know as The Enlightenment. In an essay called What is Enlightenment (published in 1784), Kant suggested that his age's identifying characteristic was its growing secularism. Intellectually, Kant greeted the decreasing belief in Christianity, but he was also surprised by it in a logical understanding. He was skeptical about human character and understood that we are, by nature, intensely likely to corruption. For Kant, the role of art is to symbolize the most important ethical ideas. It's an extension of philosophy. He held we desired to have skill frequently before us to benefit from vivid examples and memorable characters of reasonable manner, thereby keeping the broken parts of ourselves in the assessment.
