Immanuel Kant is a German philosopher, widely considered to be central figure of modern philosophy. He is practical, down to earth with strong ideas about right and wrong.
He was bought up in a Pietist household. Kant maintained Christian ideals for some time, but struggled to reconcile faith with his belief in science.
"Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never merely as a means to an end, but always at the same time as an end"
