These pictures depict the theme of David Hume's Breakdown in 1729, his recovery and his breakthrough. (the picture in gold) depicts his lavish lifestyle as he was a son of a wealthy family. (the picture in black and white) depicts the unexpected nervous breakdown that he experienced which changed his life. (the picture of a turtle) depicts the slow and yet eye-opening time of recovery that he went through after the breakdown. (the picture of the side mirror) This depicts his moving to France after recovering from the breakdown. Lastly, the pictures of the books depict that after moving to France he was able to write books that tell the world his realizations about the self and other philosophies.
