> George Mead believed that people develop self-images through interactions with other people.
2. Interpretation of Culture
> * Enlightenment-a view that whatever else may be said for or against it, was both clear and simple
* Consensus Gentium-notion that there are some things that all men will be found to agree upon as right, real, or attractive.
* Religion-man’s most fundamental orientation to reality.
3. Global vs Implicit Self-Esteem
> This is the general value that a person places on him/herself and should be distinguished from appraisals of specific traits.
4. Big 5 Personality Dimension
> This consist of 5 broad factors:
* Neuroticism-person who tends to be nervous, tense, and moody.
*Extraversion-the quality of interpersonal interaction with sociability and assertiveness.
*Agreeableness-refers to a trait such as generosity, kindness and cooperativeness.
*Conscientiousness-individuals who tends to be negligent, careless, and undependable.
*Openess to Experience-person who tends to be curious, imaginative, and creative.
5. Positive vs Negative Affectivity
> This focuses on the positive and negative emotions or expressions that we feel. Positive affectivity includes joy, cheerfulness, etc. Negative affectivity includes sadness, disgust, etc.
