In his days there's no religious freedom and the only thing
that is allowed is the English church other religion isn't allowed that is why John Locke tries to take back the freedom the people deserved, because at that time the one who chooses to rule their land is the church or the royal family, almost to no freedom, no one has to say in anything. even if they did they will be punished for it.
This inspires John Locke to wrote his philosophy talking about how people should be free in choosing what to believe in and who they can trust to rule over them.
