According to John Locke, the entity of the "self" is described as of only borne through our experiences and living consciousness. The first picture depicts that our self is developed when we first start out in this living physical realm. It has no true or false self, only the thoughts in mentality matters. The second picture, explains that our self is to be put on halt when we enter a sense of deep sleep or even death at one point because our thoughts stop generating and in a similar way, our self stops too. The 3rd and 5th picture conveys a message that the self definition of Locke is not limited to our flesh and ethereal counterparts, but in our mind itself. There is no higher being within us, and no mortal vessel outwards. 4th picture is an example of what our self is in Locke's point of view. Nothing but a mass of data and experience that guides us along the path of life.
