According to Rene Descartes, dualism is the theory which states that reality or existence is divided into two parts. When speaking of humanity, dualism asserts that the mind is separate from the body. He believed the mind is the seat of our consciousness. Because it houses our drives, intellect, and passions, it gives us our identity and our sense of self.
First 1st picture conveys that when see signs like these, they provide us information or instruction, we take that information inside our mind and then our mind decides whether to follow it or not, and once our mind has decided, it will start controlling our body to act based on what has been processed in our mind.
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th pictures depicts that as the time goes by, we will still be seeing a lot of road signs or whatever type of sign it is. We can actually see a sign anytime or anywhere and that’s how our actions are being developed through our minds. Every minute of every day, our body is physically reacting, literally changing, in response to the thoughts that run through your mind.
The 5th picture shows toys, and they are non-living things, and they are not able to control themselves because they don’t have the consciousness like what humans have, and they don’t have minds too. And we can be similar to them in a way of being unconscious because we also lose consciousness when we are in deep sleep or when we die.
