Five Card Story: lost dog

about this story
The sky painted streaks of purple and orange, lights from each of the building glow into the streets hiding the families and people living inside. I black dog roams these streets, keeping his head down and watching his paws move left and right. This dog, roamed around the neighborhood most nights people ignoring him as he walked. When the sky was dark enough the dog would make a bed out of the fallen leaves, and often would cry himself to sleep. One day after the sun had risen he ended up in front of a tall building. People gathered up in the streets laughing and talking. Games were being played and children had their faces painted The dog kept his distance afraid of the new gathering of people. A girl with brown hair, the color pink spread on her forehead noticed the dog. She continued to stare smiling to herself as her parents pulled her along down the street. "Puppy" She said catching her mother's attention. Recognizing the dog she began to cry with joy. The mother had found their lost dog.
