about this story

I was born in May. Born a Taurus. Dependable, loyal, and incredibly stubborn. Moreso, the lone cow perfectly captures my time in COVID. Deep in reflection, mostly outdoors, and generally isolated. When not outdoors, I was typically in front of a screen in my converted industrial loft (reminiscent of photo #5).

However, COVID challenged me to build community in other ways. The second and fourth photos remind me of elements in my neighborhood, Church Hill. I am grateful to my neighbors (in Church Hill and beyond) for helping redefine community through story circles, sports, and dog playdates.

I have learned a lot about myself in COVID and in many ways am grateful for the collective moment. For one, I am more confident. Photo #3 represents the aspiration. Clear, confident, and trusted for the stories I will tell.
