about this story

There I was, hiking in the most beautiful country in the world. My first time in Peru has been a dream, today is sadly my last day, and my last hike. I’ve been hiking for hours and had run out of food. I remember hearing my friend tell me that if I ever ran out of food in the mountains to eat the read berries. I had run out of food 3 hours before , and I was desperate for food, thank god I came across some red berries. I ate those berries like they were candy, even though they tasted funny. I ate them until I was full and happy. I continued hiking for a little long and decided to sit down around 20 minutes later because I felt funny and very light headed. The next thing I know, my head hit the ground with a thud. I woke up to people surrounding me and panicking. They rushed me out of the woods as I was foaming at the mouth. I woke up again in the hospital, with a bunch of people talking to me, as I got frustrated because I couldn’t understand any of them. They had to bring in a translator for me so they could explain what happened to me. I had eaten very poisonous berries called Pokeweed berries. If I had eaten one more berry or came in even one hour later I would have died. I stayed in the hospital a little while longer so they could make sure I’m stable, and to make sure I didn’t have any seizures. When I was realized from the hospital I had never been so happy in my entire life. I booked by flight, got on the plane and headed home. As I was on the plane I dozed off, but I woke up in the mountains.
