about this story

Why are you a lizard? Why were you born a lizard? Why were you born? Why are you being held by this random person?

Escape, I say. Well I say, you do.

You scurry around the floor for a while, trying to figure out how to move with this body. The hand comes after you, but being small has its benefits. You crawl into the gap of the door, escaping whomever was trying to, I don't know, cut off your tail as an experiment.

You wander out, and find yourself in the streets. Looking up, no one is looking down at you, rather looking up ahead. Also looking up, a clock tower. Alright, you say to yourself, let's climb that thing.

You make your way through the shrubbery. The floor is cold, not really good for reptilians, but something about this clock tower beckons you to come.

You find a way into the tower, into a vent, through a loud metal corridor, and out a thing. A cat stand in the way.

That's not good is it? Oh well. Run.

Still, being small hasn't come with any detriment. You evade the cat, with maybe a bit more ease than expected. Stupid cat.

You make your way to the elevator, because you're not a barbarian. You wait for someone to open it, and come into the carriage with them.

Up, up, and up. The motion of rising making your feel heavy on your four feet. Then stop.

You come out, and see the gigantic mechanisms of the giant clock. Perhaps maybe only giant to you. You are a lizard after all.

You look around, looking for that thing you fought for. What was it?

There.

A white rose. Your white rose.

Remember Rose?

Remember, who you fight for.
