about this story

The grass was just starting to turn brown in the cool weather of late summer. The trees were still full of bright green leaves in the open field I was in. I pulled my red sweater tighter to my body as a crisp breeze cut through the air. Underneath me, my horse moved briskly through the short grass. The day was just beginning to turn to dusk, and there were many rivers that would soon cross our path. Eventually we reached a thicker section of bush, and a rocky river prevented us from continuing on our way. My hosr became spooked by the loud rush of the water in front of us, but I calmed him by gently muttering words of encouragement. We walked the bank of the river for a few minutes until we found a thinner and calmer section of the river that we were eventually able to cross. We continued our way through the forest until we came upon a a lake and a large glowing city across it, bright from in the slowly dimming light of the sky. Clouds were quickly moving in and so we headed home straight away until we got back home to the familiar ghostly white door that greeted us both.
