about this story

Sigmund Freud, generally referred to as the "Father of Psychoanalysis," was a pivotal player in the early development of psychology. He was an Austrian neuroscientist who was one of the most influential intellectuals of the early twentieth century, pioneering several psychological concepts such as the idea of the unconscious, repression, psychoanalysis, and talk therapy. Freud was a prominent personality in both Europe and America during the early twentieth century. He lived in Vienna with his wife and children for most of his life, where he performed psychoanalysis and published prolifically on various issues, including psychology, literature, and religion. Gain for Freud. According to Freud, the human mind is bisected into three distinct parts: the id, the ego, and the super-ego. The id is the unconscious source of many human instincts, urges, and drives. The id is present from birth and is concerned with satisfying basic needs such as hunger, thirst, and sexuality. The super-ego is a part of our mind that makes moral judgments regardless of the circumstances. The super-ego frequently reflects cultural rules, including those taught by parents, and includes concepts like right and wrong, guilt, shame, and judgment. The ego seeks to balance I and d's super-ego's desires. As a result, the ego frequently participates in numerous protection mechanisms.
