Early in the morning when Nicholas woke up, he hurried to the comfort room to take a sip of water before eating to go to school. A few hours later, while he was tending to his own needs, he heard an announcement in their area that was Nicholas' signal that it was quarter to one o'clock. He couldn't have thought that he would have been unaware of the passage of time given the volume of tasks he was juggling and the fact that his class began at 12 p.m. As a result, he rushed out of their house with his college tuition and the project he needed to submit that day, and boarded the school bus.
