about this story

Gilbert Ryle was born on August 19, 1900 in Brighton, England. He graduated with first class honors in 1924 and was appointed to a lectureship in Philosophy at Christ Church, Oxford. His definition of self is the behaviorism that means he evaluates oneself based on his or her behavior. He believes that the actions or the way we behave towards other define who we are. During World War II, he was recruited to intelligence work with the Welsh Guards and rose to the rank of Major by the end of the War. He is now on heaven with our God, he was dead on October 6, 1976.
