about this story

Today we set out for our Tec21 meeting. We had snacks, we had beverages, we had used the bathroom. Yes, we were off to a great start! Five miles out of town we hit construction on I-55. The A-Z Moving Company truck was our front scenery for 15 miles of potholes and orange cones, the state flower of Illinois. Of course, the beverages necessitated another bathroom break. We pulled into the rest area, only to be met with a NO PARKING sign. What??? We could use the restroom, but couldn't park? This created quite a dilemma! Mindy hopped out while I circled. Not knowing how to handle things when she got back, she jumped in through the sun roof and took control while I shimmied out and took care of business. Back in the car and we were on our way once again. Next stop--LUNCH! (It's all about the food at Tec21.) Arby's where they HAVE THE MEATS was calling. We both enjoyed our curly fries and it was back on the road. TEC21 OR BUST! Getting closer to our destination, we were met with construction once again. Needing to make yet another bathroom stop because of our age , we were met with still another no parking area. NOOOOO! We decided to press on. We were ready to learn and loaded--with great ideas! GPS informed us every five seconds that we were close, and after recalculating through the construction and no parking, our destination was in sight! We grabbed our masks, our computers, our charging cords, or water, and our binders of ideas. Racing to the door, we were shocked to find it locked! What???? Impossible!!! It was then we realized that we had set out on the original date in March and needed to patiently wait for March 31.
