about this story

Each of the images that I choose are those that I think is somewhat connected with my experiences in life and how it influences my philosophy in relation to the philosopher that is assigned to me. So the philosopher that is assigned to me is Socrates and Maurice. For the first photo, it is a photo of mcdonald. Which you may think wont have any sense but the photo is self could be related on how we would be able to know ourselves. Through going back to our memories. The 2nd and 5th photo have the same thought for me, our experiences or my experiences that makes up who we are. How we discover life in order to find the true meaning of ourselves. Those happy memories that we had. The 3rd photo looks like a barrier, as for me I was quite a shy person and I realized that there’s nothing wrong with that but if I am going to stay like that, I may not be able to experience what life is. I may not be able to examine my life. That is related to what socrates have said that “an unexamined life is not worth living” so I realized that I need to step out of my comfort zone and start exploring. The 4th photo is a sculpture, just like the sculpture of the great people in museums , all of us have our own uniqueness. And if we think that way, we would be unique in our own way. Just like what Maurice Merleu-Ponty’s view of self. One experience that always happened to me is I always think negative and I realized whenever I do that, it seems like it always happened like that. Like if I think im sad, eventually I became sad. So what we think is what we attract. And those are the things that I think is somewhat related to my experiences.
