Five Card Story: The Flower through Time

about this story
Once there lived a flower. This flower lived isolated up in the highest mountains, away from the changing times. It watched as the clouds rolled past it turning from day to night on repeat for who knows how long. It went through rain, snow, suffered through unrelenting heat but it continued to live on and on. The flower saw these things happen many times. On one faithful day the flower that was usually covered in light saw only darkness. This darkness went on for a time until it saw a bright light followed by an unfamiliar being, the head of a lion. The flower was in a completely new place. Different from it's peaceful, soft-lit, quiet home. This place was noisy, bright, and had many structures and painting depicting lions. Over time it saw how the place grew, moved on, it saw new plants grow and wither, it saw people come and go. More time passed, the place that was so bright became dark ang gloomy, lesser and lesser people came and visited. Now the place that used to be lively and colorful was abandoned and colorless.
