Five Card Story: The Waiting Room

Harold was heading back after visiting his grandfather's grave when he spotted an interesting slab of concrete on the ground. There was a symbol of the cross on it, hidden by the dry leaves and grass. Harold noticed 4 circular slots near the center of the cross. He fidgeted with his grandfather's ring around his neck, when he realized that the ring split into four. He put the rings into the slots and slowly and eerily, the slab started to move to the right revealing a staircase underneath the ground. Hesitantly, Harold went down the staircase only to find himself in an ally with shops and a town filled with light. Perplexed and baffled, Harold walked around the town with its vendors selling foods and jewelry he had never seen before. Eventually, he stumbled upon a barn farther from the town. Engulfed with curiosity, Harold walked around the barn only to find a wall with a weird red and black brick pattern. He notices a brick out of place and presses it. The walls slowly move to the right to reveal a bar filled with the finest liquor he had ever seen. The tables were filled with half drunk men and women shouting at the service to bring more drinks. The band that was playing was loud and archaic, playing songs you would only hear in fantasy movies. He walked up to the bartender and asked where he was and the bartender stopped cleaning his glass, looked up to Harold and said, "Son, you're in the Waiting Room."
