about this story

My blood ran cold. I was on the way back home from a bar, drinking with my friends from high school. I heard a shuffle of feet in the cover of the cold, black shadows, stripping me of my bravery. I quickened my pace and scurried home. And there it was. The man. The man that was following me. He wore an insane look and the steel, cold blade of the knife glinted in the low light of the street. I gulped and backed away. And that's when we lunged. I felt the cold, metallic knife pierce through mt skin as my heart beat its last moments of life. The man pulled a mask over his scarred face as he lugged the limp body away from the bloody floor. Drip. Drip. The blood fell as every step he took. He heaved the body into his car, drove to the harbor and got to work.
