Desabelle could not tell you why she was discarded, but she considered many reasons when she found herself thrown outside with the trash. She thought maybe her plaid was no longer stylish or perhaps there was no more room for something that looked like her where she she spent her days, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. She had always served her purpose, calling a small bar in Manhattan her home. Many famous and even some notorious individuals needed her, as she completed her duties without complaint. She had been apart of many Wall Street conversations, auditions between infamous actors and directors, and even a few royalty visiting the city who stopped by to drink a libation before moving onto their next soiree. They would read their novels and consider the meaning of life. But Desabelle had already discovered that she found meaning by serving with a purpose. Before long, a woman walked by and saw Desabelle on the side of the walkway, taken aback by her plaid beauty. She worked at an old university, the same that taught many of the great minds Desabelle knew. As Desabelle was moved into the woman's office at the university, she was amazed at the aritecture at the school. She knew she was home. Many students needed Desabelle as they met with the professor in her office; some cried, some cheered, but all allowed her to be apart of their lives. Desabelle was glad to serve a new purpose and find meaning in her existence once again.
