- Have you ever noticed how different it feels when you're looking into a window rather than out? One feels exciting and relaxing all at the same time, but the other feels odd and a bit like peering into business that isn't yours. Well, that's what Carson thought as he was on his daily journey home back from school on his red bicycle. He usually rides past the red building with the big window on the front of it daily and thinks the same thought but does nothing about it. But today was different. What Carson didn't know was what resided on the other side of that window was completely his business.
Days before, Carson was speaking with his mom about packing for a family beach trip that was coming up and she was telling him all about the needful things at the beach,
"Carson have you seen my orange sunglasses? The ones with the flowers on them and the really dark lenses?" She asked. "No mom, haven't seen them" Carson said.
"why would I know about her sunglasses?" He muttered under his breath.
"just keep an eye out for them, they're really important to me and the family"
"okay mom!" Carson said on his way out of the room and into the basement.
Flash forward now to the present time, and Carson has just mustered up the courage to veer into the window that has been grabbing his attention for what seemed like forever. He walked up slowly, approached the window and placed his hand on the brick window sill and then suddenly a dark figure came into the light and Carson was frightened but intrigued, "who is that" he thought, "why are they here?" He leaned in closer to get a better look and in a rapid smooth motion was swept off his feet and through the window as if it wasn't even there. The speed of which this all occurred was too much for Carson and he seemingly lost sight of his surroundings. Seconds later he could see again and standing before him was a turtle. Not just any turtle. A turtle with a humanoid body. Yes, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. But something was different, this guy wasn't any of the four traditional turtles. So how could he be a ninja turtle? Immediately Carson was extremely frightened but then overjoyed all at once! He was so overwhelmed all he could speak was an odd combination of words that sounded like "ateenamutennijaturtureal!" Then suddenly the turtle was speaking and saying things rapidly like "the sunglasses help you see, they help you see everything." "What does that mean?" Carson thought. The turtle continued, "the glasses upon my own face, they help me see. They help you see. You must find them" "I must be dreaming" thought Carson. "Oh," the turtle continued, "that's a wrap for me then" And with a snap of his turtle fingers, Carson woke in a cold sweat in his basement on his couch.
He rose and yelled, "Mom! Did you find your glasses yet?!!!"
