Five Card Story: The Haunted Halloween

It was October 31, 2004. I had been preparing for Halloween for several weeks. It was always one of my favorite nights to spend with my friends. Before going out to trick or treat, I stopped by the lake to relax for a few minutes. Just then, I felt the presence of a someone, or something, behind me. I turned around and saw a ghoulish creature with a sword. His costume was awesome, but very spooky. This trick or treater began to come my way, and it was then that I realized he was not wearing a costume. His face was not covered by a fake mask, and his blade was real! This creature chased me from the lake, through several neighborhoods, and through the cemetery. I took shelter in an abandoned house and caught my breath. Just then, my older brother pulled up in his brand new Corvette. I sprinted out the front door and dove into the Corvette. We sped away and never saw the creature again!
