The candy was just calling their names. It was like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Everyone just had to have some. The kids were going crazy. They were clamoring for just one bit of candy. And the teacher was getting annoyed. Hadn't anyone been paying attention to the lessons on sugar and diet and tooth decay? All the teacher could think about was relaxing with a warm cup of coffee far way from the greedy youngsters. A nice book and warm beverage would surely soothe the teacher's soul. But more work had to be done. The teacher had to get his point across to these kids. Was there any hope? Certainly, they would be able to make rational decisions if the teacher could just make his point and find the right motivation for the kids. As the teacher persevered, the kids knew refusing candy was the right thing to do, and in the end, the long road ahead became shorter and there was light at the end of the tunnel.
