about this story
The contrast between the resort and the town was startling at times. She could only imagine what it was like before the Wilton Hotel was built. She imagined the forms of wildlife that now were only able to be seen in a 14 acre nature preserve. But she wanted to be a part of the real place so she ventured outside the gated community and hopped a bus into the center of town. Her LONELY PLANET guide in her backpack and two bottles of water to keep her going.
She had read about the HOUSE OF JESUS AND PASTRY and decided she wouldn't forgive herself if she didn't try to find it. Using her best international sign language with smatterings of "spench" (spanish/french) she eventually found the blue door emblazoned with the number 12. She was not disappointed.
