Gather 'round as I tell you the story of how,
I discovered a power that I did not know until now.
Focus in on my right eye, the one looking at you,
it all started when I reached a gate painted blue.
The lock made me question what might be behind,
I had to discover the mystery to be fully satisfied.
I took a deep breath and snuck through a small crack,
once I made it through there was no going back.
The view was outstanding, breathtaking, and surreal,
how could the world have not spread the news of this big deal?
The mountains were tall and the valleys were deep,
This was not a secret I was going to keep.
How could I resist to share the news,
that my body could turn shades of greens, reds, and blues!
This was the first time I felt confident within my own skin,
and the last time I would be the color of a real chameleon.
I have discovered a place with colorful mountains,
and dare I forget to mention the sparkling fountains.
I will not pass back through that gate painted blue,
I am an artist at heart and I feel brand new!
