"Another day,another race"sighed Kayla as she walked out of her kennel. Kayla was a sled dog. She had been racing since she was a adult and the training had been harder then ever with the lightning race coming up. It was today that the race would begin and this was the last time she would be able to do the race. She wanted to complete the race and be able to say she did. By now she was hitched up and running like the wind across the halfway point. At first the trees were green but soon they started to look like skeletons. Kayla was starting to get worried. "What is happening?" Kayla said to herself. Soon she noticed a red light ahead. Then she realized it was Nome! She had made it! She was first! Minutes later they crossed the line into Nome. Kayla rejoiced as they were put on a plane back home. She had a great story to tell and could not wait for a rest. "I hope others finish like me" Kayla sighed happily. And away went the plane on the way back home
