Myrtle was on a mission. She wanted to travel the world. She began her journey in the summer of 1964. It took her 20 years to travel from New Mexico to Arizona, where she was finally able to see the Painted Desert. From there Myrtle decided to visit the Grand Canyon. She hitched a ride on an 18 wheeler and arrived in record time. She stayed at the Grand Canyon for many years where she met and married her husband, Arnold. They had many children and grand-children over the next several years. During this time, Myrtle and Arnold adopted a grasshopper as an infant and named him, Dewey. Dewey grew to be a fabulous hopper. When he became an adult grasshopper, he decided to show his appreciation to Myrtle and Arnold, his mom and dad, for adopting him as a little hopper. He planted the most beautiful pink flowers that he could find and worked tirelessly to create a garden for his mom and dad where they could relax and enjoy the beauty around them. Myrtle announced that her traveling days were over because now she lived in the most beautiful place on Earth.
