about this story

I grew up in King City, Ontario; a small little town about an hour north of Toronto itself. I like to think that I had a pretty normal childhood - playing, pretending, pie-making - but as I think back, I was really lucky. My house had a swimming pool in the backyard, a huge swing set, and large yard with plenty of room for me to exercise my imagination and creativity.

As I grew up, I found myself being moved around a lot; in fact, I have never spent more than 2 years in a certain school. and in my grade 11 year, I spent a half of it in Italy. Traveling and studying abroad is definitely a rewarding experience and I highly recommend it.

My high school experiences definitely had an impact on my current profession choice. Throughout high school, I loved Chemistry, English and History. To bridge the gap between my passion for certain subjects and my passion for teaching, I went straight on to post-secondary education to first obtain my BA and then my BEd. I have a BA in English and History and am currently working towards a BEd. There are definitely some hurdles and obstacles to overcome, but I feel confident that I will persevere and reach my goal.

In the end my passion for teaching and learning is what drives me. I believe in a democratic classroom; I believe in collaboration; I believe in my students.
