My meal stared me in the face with an aggressive air of defiance. I knew that if I waited too long to consume it, it would surely morph into something less sinister, but more strange, so I thought it best to take advantage of the spice and dive in. Flash, boom, the voices of the crowd (where before there was silence) overtook me and washed through me. I felt like I needed to climb back into my mother's arms like a young gorilla seeking shelter from a hostile world. And then there was nothing but vacancy.
