Five Card Story: Beaches to Bugs

It was spring break and I was in Spain with a a couple guys from my dorm. We rented a beachside suite with a classic European look. Tall, thin windows that overlooked the beach decorated the stone exterior. We woke up the first morning only to see beautiful sunlight shining down on the white sand. We leaped and bounded down the stairs and onto the beach, where we were greeted by a group of fun loving beach volleyballers. After joining their game, they invited us back to their home for a lavish meal. The dining room sported a long table lit by candles and an erie chandelier. Anxious for some authentic cuisine, we graciously accepted what was being served to us. However, once our plates arrived, we came to the realization that we were dining on... beetles! Not wanting to offend, we gobbled our bugs and smiled at our hosts. Our spirits were much lower the next morning because we were dead. The people of Spain had forgotten that you must take an antidote before eating the exotic beetles, so they held a candlelight service in remembrance of their newfound, but now dead, American friends.
