Feeling unloved, uncared for and unimportant, Maria walked the streets. “So many people, so many knowing eyes, they surely can see my faults, they know how I failed, how could they not” she thought. She cried for refuge but received none. “I have to deal with this” she asserted to herself. She pictured her self, a small girl, trying to speak loud enough to be heard, loud enough to be loved. Realizing that this was a part of her she shouted Listen and they did, her self concerned thoughts retreated from the room of her mind. That room became an inner sanctum of impenetrable stone, where nothing could touch her. Life began to feel easier, like a beautiful walk, enjoying the beauty and the uniqueness that the world had to offer. She arrived home to a bouquet of flowers saying “I love you”.
