about this story

I sorrowfully looked up at the wall. The "PLEASE REMOVE ALL CRASH HELMETS" sign looked menacingly down at me. It was almost if it knew that my crash helmet was my dearest possesion. Teary, I sat my little protector down onto the ground.
"Hey, buddy. I know you can't bear to be apart from me, but we're gonna have to part so I can do this," I said while coking back sobs.
The helmet continued to sit there. The way it was laying on the ground sideways broadcasted a blank stare that almost seemed to say, "Have courage, John."
The helmet gave me the strength to do it.
I walked past the sign and went outside; the brisk, cool air bit at my nose. As I walked down the snow-covered stairway I looked at the maze ahead. Strangely, there was no evidence of snowfall at all on it.
I began to navigate the maze wearily. Sitting on the maze was an odd creature speaking a language I didn't understand. It spooked me, so I yelled at him a few times, at which point he approached me.
I began to run for my life through this puzzling stone edifice that I had trained for for so long. When I finally came out, a beautiful deer was standing there waiting for me, practically asking to be eaten.
I looked down at my paws and knew what to do.
