Twenty years after the War, and the first toxin-free plants were emerging. Found objects as simple as children's toys were still horribly radioactive, but children born post-apocalypse are now able to see a sunrise that is not choked by clouds of dust. Life, though altered, is manifest in many ways, the most profound being the simplest: a butterfly in the wreckage, the song of a bird, or even the rumbling roar of a restored Harley Davidson rumbling down the newly-paved highway. Life goes on.
