about this story

There once lived a little chipmunk named Chippy. Chippy was so very sad. He had just lost his home to two very nasty raccoons. He was searching for a new home but was having no luck. He was running from tree to tree but they all had already been taken. He had went to every tree in the woods he used to live in. So he soon came to a snow covered town. He was pretty sure he saw a few trees about a mile away. Chippy ran and jumped all the way there. He soon found the trees in the middle of a park. He again ran tree to tree. All most all the trees were taken, except for one. The last tree was the tallest in the park. Chippy was ready to climb when all of a sudden he sees a hawk coming right at him. He tries to dodge it but get snagged on one of the hawk’s talons. The hawk loses sight of Chippy. Chippy falls to the ground and is too injured to get up. He lays there afraid with no hope of getting to a new home. He was just about to close his eyes to try to sleep when a little girl finds him and picks him up. She takes him to her mom and dad. The little girl asks, “Can we take home.” Her parents consider this when they notice Chippy is hurt. They say yes to taking him home they have found a new pet. Chippy now had a new home. He even got a new friend, Winston the Macaw.
