The pristine white sands stretched out as far as the eye could see. As we swung nonchalantely in our hammocks in the shade of a tropical tree. A far cry from the dnak dark forest we were in a fortnight ago. We were at a friends wedding and her drunk uncle was hogging the microphone and embarrassing everyone and everything he could. With sore heads the next day we decided to go for a walk into the wilderness, along the trail we trudged in the heat and the dry arid air. I decided the native insects were gorgeous and spent my time admiring them. Unfortunately the gang had gone on ahead of me...lost now and frantic I tried to scream out names in the vain hope someone would hear me. The forest closed in on me and I fainted from fear. How long later, I don't know, but when I came to, it was pitch black, cold and damp. I huddled under a tree, nestled into a cove that naturally formed in the trunk and feigned sleep.
