about this story

I wandered through the forest, capturing the moments and memories in my mind and through my camera lense, when I came across a tree most peculiar. Now, I had been through these woods countless times during every season, and was unfamiliar with this particular clearing. As I was leaving the treeline, I noted that the trees edging the clearing had carvings on each. Some said simply, "OK", but others said many things. I found one with both "OK" and "LG" and stopped, moving closer to examine it. That was when my house key fell from the lanyard around my neck and fell down into a small hole in the base of the roots. I stooped to my knees and peered into the darkness, wondering how I could get the key out, when I saw a light glitter. I looked closer and blinked, and before I knew it I was reaching out, then I was falling. I hit wherever it was with a splash and peered down at the small oasis I had landed in... under the tree. There was sand and color and shells, and glittering in the clear water was my brass key. I picked it up, and stood. Without knowing where I was going, I began walking... and walking... I came out of the dark, underground oasis and glanced back, to find only a treeline. I turned and began back down the road I came from, disoriented. When I caught sight of the clock tower outside my town, I faintly wondered why I was holding my key in my hand.
