about this story
My name is Robyn McTalom. I am 23 years old and live in the ridiculously boring village of Troon. Yes Troon. We look like your standard Scottish village rows of similar looking low income housing and lots of farm land. Since I was younger I dreamt of travelling... I want to see scorching red rocks and burning skies! I want to go on an adventure! Alas I have never left Troon. I am a farmers eldest daughter and since my father fell ill the farm has mostly fell to me to run. I have 6 siblings all of which are younger. They all have run off already leaving me with the farm. Though I love my siblings, I always feel an anger at them for leaving me. The most interesting thing I have seen in recent years is a graffitied wall in town that read " Paul is dead. He was never the walrus!" Being a Beatles fan this made me chuckle. I woke up on February 26 like it was any ordinary day but it wasn't just any ordinary day... I was going on an adventure. I went in to town were I met my friend Colin. Him and I had been planning this for months. Today we departed for a new country. For a new experience. The farm could handle a month without me.
