Five Card Story: The Highway

about this story
You wake up early one morning and can't fall back asleep. You put on your favorite pair of sweats and a tshirt, grab your car keys, hop in your car, and drive along the highway that's by your house. You turn on your iPod and start listening to your favorite music, which happens to be happy soft rock from the 70's and 80's. As you're driving you look around and see brightly coloured flowers that are starting you bloom just in time for summer. Trees are all you can see now on either side of you. You feel like Moses walking through the Red Sea. That's how dense and tall the trees are. As you approach the end of the highway, the sun starts to rise. It's bright and uplifting, making you feel completely carefree and content. You turn onto a dirt road and keep driving. It's too rocky to drive on now so you getmout and start walking along the rocky trail. Finally, you reach your destination. You stand on the rock cliff and look straight ahead and see water, lots and lots of water. You stay until the sun sets. You slowly make your way back to your car and drive back home down the highway until you back home. You make your way up to our room and fall into bed. You fall into a deep sleep, feeling the most peaceful you have ina long time.
