about this story

The sky was covered with greyish black smog. My mother told me the sky used to be blue, but looking at the color it is now, its almost impossible to believe her. As people marched with their sectors to work, all the faces with the same mindless stare I have gotten used to all my life. Everyday I provide service for the Great Superior, wondering what thoughts my co-workers may have, or if they even create their own thoughts. I've perfected my own blank stare, so the monitors won't catch me as a defector to the cause. I've seen examples from the past, things of art, and free expression. I wonder why they stopped doing all those things. Life seemed so happy, a word no one even thinks about these days, back then. What happened to us?
