about this story

There once was a travelling circus that toured through small towns in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Two Gorillas lived with this travelling circus as performers, a mother and her child. You might expect them to be very mistreated, but that is not the case. These two gorillas were treated like royalty. They had the finest bananas and insects to eat. The only catch is, these particular gorillas didn't enjoy eating bananas and insects. They wanted perogies. Traveling across small towns in Alberta only intensified their longing for perogies, especially when they travelled to the town of Glendon, Alberta. On display was a giant perogy on a fork. The Gorillas went wild! They escaped their enclosure and ran to the monument, only to discover it was cement, not actual perogy! The baby gorilla launched himself from the monument to the perogy hut across the street. As he threw open the door, the smell of bacon and sourcream wafter up into his gorilla nostrils. He picks up a perogy, with surprisingly dainty fingers, and tastes it. His eyes mirror fireworks as he falls to his knees, weak with satisfaction. That is why today, Gorillas should only be allowed to eat Perogies.
