about this story

The petrified god confuses and hypnotizes the fragile child of man. His presence in the human landscape is at first, unable to be explained. The relationship gradually blossoms with the now present Martian culture. They have come to teach the ways of building keepers. The keepers are humanoid robots that take the place of humans in menial tasks. The humans eventually colonize Mars alongside the aliens; all the while, the keepers virtually strip the earth of natural resources to be exported to the red, rust planet... Mars.
