It was a dark and stormy night. An eerie spirit settled over the city. When the cityfolk awoke the next morning, they noticed that all the stores were filled with ugly plaid trousers, and their own careful wardrobes had been replaced with ugly plaid trousers. Running to their television sets and Yahoo newsgroups, they soon discovered that the horror had spread as far as Sydney, Australia. The opera house was especially hard hid, as no one could contemplate how to perform Aida in ugly plaid trousers.
Some scientists thought they had the answers. They searched ugly yellow walls for secret doors that might reveal the location of all the misplaced clothing. But it was to no avail.
The only people that did not suffer were the rock stars, who took great joy in the proliferation of ugly plaid trousers, and simply dyed their hair and guitars to match.
