Keys in hand and balance faltering, I walk to my vehicle. Thoughts linger in my mind, "this will be the last time," as I enter the driver's seat. I remember what it was like last year, bars on the windows and a stench that seemed to sink into my skin for months. Daylight breaks. I step out of the vehicle and stare at the cumulus clouds gathering. I cannot be absolved of my sins when my intentions are to ignore the fragility of beating hearts. I continue on my journey, step after step, slowly getting closer to my own utopia.
