The carnival came to town in June. It was a nice warm day, but not too hot. One little boy peeked through the fence. "Let me in!" he cried. He wanted to join in the fun. He saw other children playing on an old log. He saw a fence that had been painted green and yellow, with children's handprints. It looked like so much fun, but the nobody came to let the little boy in. He looked around, and finally realized he was standing next to a very tall tree. The tree was very close to the fence. "If I can climb that tree," he thought to himself, "then I will be able to get over the fence and join the fun."
