The rain was pounding on the windshield. The only sounds to be heard where the whirring of the tires on the dirt road and the whoosh of the windshield wipers as they made a futile attempt to clear the rain from our line of vision. I was so tired I could barely stay awake. I let the sounds of the drive lull me to sleep.
