An old woman picked up a pen and decided to write her story down. It began on a hillside. She left the place she'd lived for most of her adult life, in the middle of winter and took to the sea in a small boat. She sailed and sailed until she reached the shore. Finally, she was in San Francisco, near the wharf, the place where she was born. Finally, she was home.
