As I walked through downtown Trois-Rivières, QB, I looked up and though of my SaskPower lineman brother who would climb such a power pole. However, I tried to ignore it and focus on all the beauty around me to push away the homesickness creeping up within me. I then came across a fence with a sign: Warning, strange dog. I giggled a little on the inside as I wondered what in particular made this dog 'bizarre'. This inevitably, made me think of my sister's dog Lindy. I couldn't take it anymore. I pick up my iPhone and called my mom. She informed me that all was well back home and that she was actually playing outside with the grandkids in the field outside the house. I said goodbye and decided that no matter how much I missed my family, I was grateful for my time in Quebec and that it was going to be a good 10 months!
