about this story
It seems I am always babysitting someone for somebody. The adults are always stressing--it's always something with them. I find the company of children not so bad. They imagine so freely, and sometimes take me with them on their flights of fancy. One day I was following this one young tot into the woods. The path wound higher and higher and his little arms stretched as wings of a plane. I followed suit, and surprisingly found us airborne, high above the clouds. We gently descended into a far away land, and continued climbing over the hills into high mountains. Where was he taking me? The laces let loose of our sandals, and changed to ballerina ribbons as we danced into our memories, dreaming of yesterday, when the path began.
