about this story
I live in the Town of Dust on the corner of Alone and Do Not Enter. Where the kids stay out all night and don't go inside. The stoplights are always on red, the stores are always open. I'm running out of food, I need to go to the store. I yelled to my mom that i was leaving. i'm sure she said "okay". She's always standing by the kitchen sink looking out the window as if expecting something. I walk to Ben's Groceries, the door is open as usual. The tinkle of the doorbell goes off, Mr. Ben doesn't look up...he never does. " hey, Mr. Ben " I said as i continued to walk through the store. I grabbed some flour, eggs, and several TV dinners. I walked to the front " alright, Mr. Ben I think this is it for me today...do you want me to pay?" He doesn't look up, he just stands there and stare at his notebook. He's so nice he always lets me get my supplies for free. "okay, thanks Mr. Ben" I walked out the store and started my journey home.
I live in a town where the human population is one. The only way for me to keep sane is to pretend that things are normal, but then I'm not really sane if I'm talking to myself.
